How Will You Know If A zPod Is Right For Your Child?

Very often a family will message us and wonder if a zPod is right for their child. Thus far, most of the families that reach out to us are looking for an Autism Bed or a safety bed that can help a child relax and calm down before bedtime. Or keep them from eloping during the night. We have seen tremendous success with children sleeping better at night and many are eloping less or no longer eloping at all. If you are looking to have the bed covered by insurance or Medicaid, then the main people that can approve of the efficacy are the child's doctor and/or therapist. And, every doctor and/or therapist may have a different reason as to why they support a zPod or why they may not believe it's the best choice for your child.

When setting up an appointment with your doctor and/or therapist, make sure you are prepared with lots of questions but also have a list of all the reasons as to why a zPod can be helpful to your child. The list of reasons can be very important as zPods is a newer product and many medical professionals are just starting to learn about them. Sometimes, your doctor or therapist may have many questions and you may be the one that needs to explain your reasonings as to why it can be helpful to your child.

Note: Please email us for our insurance packet which can lay everything out and help guide your doctor or therapist: support@zpodsforsleep.com

Here are the main diagnoses where we have seen success:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Sensory Processing Disorders

With that said, it's important to recognize that the doctor or therapist will often times write a letter of medical necessity (LMN) based on the symptoms and behaviors of the child. We found that not all children with an autism spectrum disorder or Sensory Processing Disorder will receive support simply because of the diagnoses. Therefore, this is why we recommend you review and complete our zPods Insurance Packet thoroughly. This can help you give guidance on how you need to communicate with your medical professionals, so they have the best understanding of your child's situation.

Also, if your child is currently seeing multiple different medical professionals then do not be surprised if each professional has a different opinion. For example, the occupational therapist may have a different opinion than you pediatrician based on many things such as expertise and environmental exposure to your child.
